Goddess of Time Mask

Description

My entry for the Nintendo mask making contest! Put it up on Twitter first, obviously, but I said I would share it on DA too, so here it is! The Goddess of Time mask! :D

"Long ago the people of Termina worshiped the compassionate Goddess of Time. They visioned her as being regal and wise, with strange markings on her face, and so a mask was fashioned in her likeness. Since those days, the clocks all over Termina also bare these markings."

My inspiration came from the mention of a Goddess of Time in the beginning of Majora's Mask. Inspired also by the clock designs. My mask has a similar likeness to the Fierce Deity's mask, keeping consistency between Termina's deities. The triangles on her earrings create an hourglass when put together.

Mediums:
acrylic mask base; craft foam; paper clay; felt; hair extensions; acrylic paint; brass & brass wire; various beads both acrylic, metal and hand made; various glues to hold the thing together; and a LOT of time. (pun? maybe ;3)

So yeah, this is a modification and elaboration on my original Goddess of Time character, all decked out with markings from the game lore. I'm really happy with how this came out, especially considering it took me ABOUT...give or take 1-2 hours, 20 hours over the last two days.

Construction:
My story starts on the 22nd, when I sat up late and started designing my mask. Morning of the 23rd, ran out for supplies. The mask base came as-is (and white); I had to mix the base color, yellow, and lavenders used. Constructed the ears out of craft foam and paperclay then painted them, did a lot of wire work and tried very hard not to have panic attacks over the detail painting which was all free handed. Got the painting done on the face and glued on the ears, blended and painted.
The hardest part was the hair. Good goddess that gave me panic attacks. Cut up a bunch of hair extensions, based them on felt, glue...lots..and lots..of glue... some hair spray (yes, I did) and paint (because I got white, so I could get the PALE lavender look I wanted), then spazzed trying to glue them onto the mask. SO glad it worked out though. I was worried it might not, but I wasn't going to settle for anything less. I think I managed to achieve the "looks like a face" transformation mask appeal? I hope so.

Anyway, hope you guys like this as much as I do (and here's hoping Nintendo does, too). :3

I love your storyline for this mask, it really feels like it could be canon to the game universe. Especially since it provides some background information for Termina's customs.

Great design too :)
