So I've never hammered metal before... but after studying Skyloft Zelda's gold belt, I decided the only way to do it was if I got round brass blanks and just...pounded out the domed shape in the middle. In the official art the links aren't round really, they're just domed out some, not even a whole lot, and it looked like something I was at least willing to try...

...so this is the first one I tried doing, knowing it would end up imperfect, but give me an idea what to alter so the proper ones would look better. I'd like to think it came out a lot better than it could have, and the I know how to avoid scuffs and small scratches now.

This first belt is obviously going to be mine, but it's one of the things I'll gladly take commissions for later. Got to have example pics to show off first though, don't I! ♥

The circumference of the dent should be just a liiitle closer to the perimeter. Besides that they look exactly like the links (har har) in her belt. I love how they look like mini cymbals!

I did notice that, but finding something to make them out a bit further might be hard. Strange enough, when I was finding something to use to pound out the shape, I actually chose that size for the center without thinking, even though I had pictures with me. My mind had told me "this is right, do it" and I didn't even question it. o.o

Hmm. In that case, don't change a thing. It already looks just like it! What are you going to use for the mini gold chain links?? And how are you going to connect em?

mini gold chain links? I think that is the same difference as how to attach them, isn't it?

Simple... brass wire. I'm going to make the closure out of brass wire too. Got it all figured out. ^^
