...Until now!

It's finally here! The complete Skyward Sword Hylian Alphabet, and as a font to boot!

All characters are assigned accordingly, even J, Q and X which had previously eluded readability.

In light of Hyrule Historia claiming that the alphabet was "too ancient to translate", the small text in the Lanayru images in fact were hiding the full alphabet, right under our noses.

This is free for personall use. It is also free to upload elsewhere so long as credit for the font creation is given. A link back would be nice, too. ;3

Info & FAQS:

You'll need to unzip the archive before you can install the font. I recommend using 7-Zip: [link]
* Font installation on windows: Drag & drop the font file into the C:WINDOWSFonts folder, or double click to open the font file and click the "install" button.
* Font installation on a mac: place the font file in the Home Folder > Library > Font Folder

Q: Some of the letters are using the same character, is it supposed to be this way?
A: Yes. The alphabet used throughout the game has some of the characters doubling as more than one letter. The doubled ones are supposed to be that way, and are as follows:
D & W - E & K - G & Q - I & X - O & Z - P & T




Update: 11:30am MST on 3 Jan 2012:
Anyone who had trouble with the font not showing up in certain programs should redownload the zip file. I got help from a friend and found out that apparently the first upload got broken somehow. Go figure. SO sorry for the trouble! It should work just fine now for everyone.

You will need an unzipping tool like 7zip or WinRar to open the archive.





The news of this font has made it from my little hidey hole over on Zelda Universe [link], all the way to sites like Kotaku [link] , ScrewAttack [link] , and even IGN's UK site [link] .

No matter what I do, I keep downloading this & the Fonts folder won't accept it. It keeps saying it's not the right type of file (Windows)
